The G5 vs MM74E

The mm74e has auto advance and manual retard.The G5 has auto advance and auto retard.much easier kick over. If you want to save some loot, dig manual retard, enjoy kicking the s&%t out of your ride, like the more traditional look, and like shaving parts off your case then the MM74E is the mag of choice. Retarding when starting means spark occurring close to (or over) TDC, which prevents ignition in the cylinder with piston on it's way up suddenly reversing and breaking a leg on the kickstarter. Advance is when there is spark before tdc. (Top Dead Center) The G-5 has a 'wind up' in it; when you kick slowly, the rotor then is released & suddenly spins very rapidly. Which is like kicking as hard as you can, w/out ANY of the effort. The 74E will require good solid kicks.
