Description
Custom handcrafted rear fenders for your custom Harley or Triumph build. These fenders are available in Copper, Steel, or Aluminum. Made from premium heavy duty .125" thick aluminum sheet or 16 ga (.065") thick steel. When finished they come out 37" in length, 26.25" in diameter for a 16" wheel and 27.5" in diameter for a 18 wheel in 4.5" and 5" widths. Since these are 1 pc there is no weld seam to sand and fill once you get it. With aluminum you can run the fender raw, wire brushed, mirror polished, or anodized. There are other ducktail fenders out there, but check the thickness. Most aluminum are .060" thick; most steel are .035" or less. Light is good. Too light means buying 2 fenders. Instead of paying more for the thinner fender and having it crack or break, save yourself some time and money and just buy the good one first. Fender lead time is 1-2 weeks to manufacture and are shipped ground via Fed-Ex. All fenders come in a wire brushed finish. Because mounting the fender is just as important as the fender itself (and we can't control how you mount our fender), we cannot recommend our fenders for passenger use.
To figure out what fender size to use you must determine the fender diameter. This is done by taking the tire diameter and adding 2 times the fender clearance you want to run. For example, if you are running an Avon MKII 5.00-16 tire the overall diameter is 26.3". You want to run .500" of clearance. So you take 26.3 and add 2 x .500" to get 27.3". You should use the 5" wide x 27.5" diameter fender. If you have questions about what tire will fit on your rim, this is a good link to help find a tire that works for you.
